Requirements for the clinics and rehearsals
HVCC Singers must:
Release form.
Wear informal uniforms.
No flip flops or hats are allowed.
Arrive at 8:45am and be in their seats ready to sing no later than 8:55am.
Bring a water bottle.
Bring a protein snack and sack lunch.
Leave phones at home (or keep them OFF).
No texting or calling will be tolerated during rehearsals.
Risk being greatly embarrassed if you do not comply with these rules.
Parents must:
Refrain from taking photos, talking, and using cellphones during rehearsals.
Small or fussy children are not welcome at rehearsals.
Parking
Parking at LaSells Stewart Center before 5:00pm is NOT FREE. Parking fees are $5 per day. A parking citation is at least $15!
Please walk, carpool, take the bus, or bike if you are able.

9:00am-12:30pm Morning rehearsal in the Austin Auditorium in LaSells Stewart Center with all choirs.

12:30pm Lunch on own
1:30pm Visiting choirs are with Ambassadors.
7:15pm-9:00pm Swimming at Otter Beach at the Osborn Aquatic Center for swimming and games (all singers and chaperones)
8:00pm-10:00pm Director’s Reception hosted by Heart of the Valley Children’s Choir organization for all directors/spouses, accompanists & VIP’s at the, CH2M Hill Alumni Center.

Singers cannot leave the LaSells Stewart Center area without written permission from parents/chaperones.
There is little time to leave anyway, as you must be ready to sing by 1:55pm.
To launch the 25th Anniversary Festival, all choirs will gather with family and out of town guests at Avery Park from 5:30pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 for a barbeque picnic at the Lion’s Shelter in Avery Park.
Music, food and so much fun!
The cost is included for all festival participants.
Family members who wish to attend can bring their own picnic or purchase a ticket for the BBQ for $10.
BBQ tickets were on sale until Wednesday, June 24th.
Music is provided by the Marimba band.
Singers should wear their festival t-shirts, socks and shoes, and jeans.
There will be many games to play.
Bring old socks for the sockhead game.
Choir members must wear blue 25th anniversary t-shirt (handed out at summer choir rehearsals).
All summer festival singers from HVCC and the visiting choirs are invited to swim from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday, July 1st at Osborne Aquatic Center. Set-up starts at 6:45pm.
We will have two game rooms for non-swimmers.
One room is for singers aged 15 to 18.
One room is for singsers aged 11 to 14.
Singers and chaperones can bring board games (avoid games with numerous small pieces).
All HVCC singers are asked to bring a snack or bottle of juice to share with about 8 people.
Volunteers are needed to help chaperone the event and bring games.

Note: This event is scheduled just before the Directors Reception, which runs 8:00pm to 10:00pm.
HVCC summer singers and all visiting choirs of the 25th Anniversary Festival will present a Sharing our Songs concert at 8:00pm to 9:30pm on Thursday, July 2, at the United Methodist Church on Monroe and 11th streets in Corvallis.
The concert is open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the reception following the concert.
Auditions for students grades 9 to 12 will be held in September 2009. Check this post in the Fall for details (or look for the paper newsletter mailed in August.

Singers are eligible to audition for Festival Choir if they have been in HVCC for one calendar year at the Children’s Choir 2 or Chamber Choir level.Â

We are honored to have as our guest director, internationally acclaimed Dr. Andre Thomas. There are many choirs joining us, and our alumnae choir will be featured at the Gala Concert on July 3rd.
It will be a week of incredible music, singing, reconnecting with old friends and 25 years of HVCC stories! We want everyone to come!
