Write a news post

Authors, Editors, and Administrators have access to the file upload functions of this site. Contributors (default role for new registrants) may request Author status from the Web Administrator(s).

  1. When you are logged in, the toolbar menu will add the Dashboard link so you can access the Administrative functions.
    • Click the Write tab.
      1. Type a descriptive title.
      2. Type news in the Visual tab.
        • Or copy text from a text-only file made with:
          • NotePad
          • WordPad
          • TextEdit
        • Do not paste text in from Word or WordPerfect.
          • If you do, then you must use the Erase icon to clean it up.
      3. Click Save or Publish.
  2. Someone from the Web Site Committee will review the news and Publish it.

Upload a photo or document

When Writing or Editing a news post, scroll down below the Save button to Upload a document or photo.

Please prepare you images first. They must be no wider than 500px, 72dpi, and file size lower than 100k.

  1. Click Browse to search your hard drive for the file you want to upload.
    • Type the title of the document or name of the photo.
    • Type the description of the document (summary of the information or author, date, dimensions, media of the photo).
    • Click Upload.
  2. View the Browse All list of uploaded files.
  3. Click on the thumbnail picture of your document.
    • Choose these options:
      • Full size
      • None
    • Choose Send to Editor.
    • Scroll up to the Page Content box to see where the link or image or link was pasted.
    • Select the link or image and Cut (Control-x).
      • Paste the link or photo where you want it.
      • Click Save.
