Don’t know how to put your pictures on the web?

Sounds too techie? Guess what – I didn’t know how either until 5 days before the tour. It’s really pretty simple. There are several free web-based picture storage sites. I used one that is free as a part of my internet service. There are other free independent picture storage sites that are simple to use. Examples are Flickr and Snapfish. These sites allow you to choose which pictures you want to allow the public to view (such as other HVCC families), and which ones only you can view by logging in with your own PIN.

These resources will help you load pictures to such a site:

Flickr Tour

Flickr Help and Tutorials

Once your pictures are loaded on the web, send us a link to your pictures and we’ll add it to this page. If you’re still confused, but want to try it, contact Larry Anderson.

It was difficult to keep a dry eye at La Madeleine, in part because it was the final formal concert of the tour, in part because the choir sounded even better than ever, and in part because Lucy dazzled us with the pipe organ. Our farewell dinner was at Les Fontaines St. Honore. From there we bused/climbed Montmarte, the highest hill overlooking Paris, to see the views and to sing some farewell songs to Paris, including La Marseillaise. Finally it was off to the hotel for a few hours sleep (for some) before the journey home.

We’re gratefull for Carol and Jean, for our bus and airplane leaders, our tour guides and our chaperones, for our musicians and singers, and to all who have contributed to making this trip possible.

We HAVE had singing!!!

The choir sang on the steps of The Square Arch and also on the steps of the Paris Opera House. One of our guides joined the choir in singing. Quite a crowd of locals gathered and really appreciated the choir's singing, especially the French National Anthem.

We've arrived in Paris!!! On Sunday July 13th, we left London and headed for St. Theresa's Church in Kent. Father Gus presided at mass and the choir sang wonderfully as usual, including parts of Te Deum and Rejoice in the Lamb, and Heavenly Aeroplane. From there we went to Canterbury, and then to Dover. At Dover we boarded the ferry headed for France. We sang "The Bluebirds Over the White Cliffs of Dover" from the fantail as the ferry pulled out. We had some delay getting on the ferry and arrived in Paris late, so I have to apologize that there was not time to post new pictures. As I write this, it is the morning of July 14th and we're about to board...

During morning rehearsal, some of the adults traveled to Weymouth, about an hour’s drive away. Others went to see Dorchester. In the afternoon, we had free time to explore the area around Sherborne School. Within walking distance was Sherborne Castle. Late that afternoon, singers rehearsed in the Sherborne Abbey, and later that evening, gave a superb concert. There was a steady rain all day that made us wonder if our loved ones back home were sending us a greeting card. One of our guides would like us to take the rain back to Oregon when we go.

Day 5

Early to rise and onto buses for the city of Wells. After a morning rehearsal in Wells Cathedral, we toured the Cathedral and surrounding grounds, and the explored a few blocks of nearby shopping. The Aviators gave the locals a show next to a fountain in the center of the shopping district. The evening concert was incredible.

Day 6

Another early morning. Bags packed, we said our goodbyes to Sherborne School, and headed for Windsor. During a free time, some wandered the Royal shopping center while others took tours of the castle. After lunch we rehearsed and gave a concert in St. John the Baptist Church, about a block from the castle. Then it was off to our hotel near Heathrow airport. Tonight our group is off to dinner and tours.
